Going Camping?

Whether this is your first time going camping or if you are a seasoned veteran, this page helpful resources to make your adventure as safe and fun as possible. The key to a successful outing is being prepared for all that can happen in the great outdoors of the Upper Midwest. This could be any combination of cold, rain, wind, sun, heat, bugs or a whole host of other things. Being prepared for any eventuality will make the experience for all much more enjoyable.

Camping List

We have put together a handy checklist to use when packing for your outing. Some of the things on the list are highly recommended items to bring (like an extra pair of shoes). Others are things that will make the trip more enjoyable (campsites usually have carts to help carry your items. However, it is usually challenging to locate one that is not in use. Bringing a wagon or sled means you do not have to hunt for an unused cart). If you come across other items that make your trip more enjoyable, let the Web Master know and we will add them to the list.

Scout Reservations
If you are going to either Tomahawk (Camp Navajo) or Phillippo (Camp Akela) Scout Reservations, visit their sites to find valuable information, forms and maps. The sites also have pictures and videos to show you what to expect when you are at camp.

There is plenty to do and see at these camps and your child will definitely find several activities that will excite and challenge them. One of the best parts of attending these outings is watching your child grow through the experiences that they will encounter.
